
Andrei Makine and the Search for Love:
A Talk by Geoffrey Strachan
Geoffrey Strachan, award winning translator, will be here in the shop on the 25th of August at 6:30pm to talk about his work, and to celebrate the paperback publication of A Woman Loved, by Andrei Makine.
Geoffrey is a noted translator of French and German literature into English, and is best known for his translations of the works of French-Russian novelist Andrei Makine. Additionally, Geoffrey has translated works by Yasmina Reza, Elie Weisel, and Jerome Ferrari. In the past he has been awarded the Scott-Moncrieff Prize for translations from French, and the Schlegel-Tieck Prize for translations from German.
